Make Glass Beads! - Shop

Do you want to learn how to make glass beads?

And live in South Australia? (I am in the Northern Suburbs of Adelaide).

Following recent renovations to my home studio, I am now able to offer lampwork bead making tuition.  I teach on my GTT Cricket torch (dual fuel torch), but also have a Hot Head torch available for use, if preferred.  (The Hot Head is a single fuel, entry level, beginners torch, on which a large majority of bead makers will have started with).  I have public liability insurance and am covered for tuition.

I am flexible on dates, weekday or weekend - please contact me to arrange a booking.  A $50 non-refundable deposit is required on booking (I will send you a Paypal invoice after a date has been fixed).

AN INTRODUCTION TO BEAD MAKING - FULL DAY WORKSHOP

This class is for one person and the day will usually last from 10.00 am - 4.00 pm. Everything is supplied (glass, tools, safety glasses). The day will cover the Beginner's Workshop content, along with using silver foil, making twisties and murrini, using presses and simple encased flower beads.

The price includes a simple lunch, and as much tea, coffee & biscuits as you can drink/eat. The beads made on the day will go straight from flame to kiln, and once annealed, will be posted onto you, along with any beads I make during the lesson.

Cost of workshop: ............................................................... $ 200.00

(This workshop is also available for two people, at a reduced cost of $150 each - as the tuition will be shared, and, at this point, one student will use the Hot Head - I am saving madly for a new dual fuel torch and oxygen concentrator).

BEGINNER’S WORKSHOP - PLAYING WITH COLOUR

This class is for one person and lasts for 3 hours. Everything is supplied (glass, tools, safety glasses). We will cover safety, tools and equipment, and basics from making a round bead, to pulling stringers, adding dots. We will also make very simple flower beads. The beads made on the day will go straight from flame to kiln, and once annealed, will be posted onto you, along with any beads I make during the lesson.

Cost of workshop: ............................................................... $120.00

(This workshop is also available for two people, at a reduced cost of $90 each - as the tuition will be shared, and, at this point, one student will use the Hot Head - I am saving madly for a new dual fuel torch and oxygen concentrator).

What my students have said......

"As a lapsed chalkie, I'm delighted to tell you that your lesson was well structured, building on existing skills as you moved through the activities, your instructions and demonstrations were clear and easy to follow, there was a good balance of instruction/demonstration and "hands on" practice, and most importantly the class was GREAT FUN! I am at a loss to suggest any changes you could make to improve it!".......Patti B

"I was really looking foward to learning how to lamp work and was not disappointed...Stephanie was a pleasure to have as a teacher and worked with me at my own pace...I learnt so much and having that one-on-one learning environment made it so much more relaxed and enjoyable.  I will definitely book some more lessons with her in the near future."..........Sara B
